Choose the right place

By default, you choose a hill station.

With mountains and trees around,

A beautiful butterfly with dark violet patch and a big black eye on its wings fluttering past as you two take a walk through the gardens,

Rose plants fencing the path with equal intervals between one and another like an army standing still for a ceremony,

Every kind of birds chirping, their songs of different frequencies and tunes overlapping and eclipsing one another like an amateur orchestra doing rehearsals,

Late evening silhouettes like a work of an artist,

Tiny spots of lights dancing and wobbling in the distant mountains,

Sky, pitch dark, with stars staying quiet as if they are in deep meditation were it not for those sporadic twinkling which is actually hard to notice…

A hill station is a perfect choice for a honeymoon.  However, please make sure that your sweetheart is fine with it.

Because some people cannot withstand climbing hills in four-wheelers.  It won’t be that romantic if one keeps on throwing up whatever they eat and lies on the backseat with eyes half closed and the other one stops the car at every bend and runs for lemon and salt.  So make sure both are fine with climbing hills.

Be yourself

Share about what you like and don’t like.  That you have stage fear.  That you like watching Bollywood masala.  You better confess it.  Most probably, you two would be spending a good amount of time watching TV together at home.

Very important, don’t gossip about your relatives.  A honeymoon is a golden opportunity to understand each other.  Don’t waste it in cursing your distant aunt who did not turn up for your wedding.

Don’t brag much about your day to day habits and how disciplined you are.  Bear in mind that she is going to see it all with her own eyes from next week.

Also, keep at bay any discussion about your ex-girlfriends.  I mean it.

Don’t try to be too romantic and let loose dramatic movie dialogues.  Be yourself.

  

Propose!

Above all, tell your sweetheart that you love her so much.

Tell her that she has become an inseparable part of your life.

And you are going to completely dedicate the rest of your life to make her happy and content.

Ask her about her dreams and wishes and tell her that you are going to fulfil each and every one of them.

You two are going to stick together through thick and thin and going to keep up with this beautiful journey against all the odds of practical life.

Tell her that you want to plant an affectionate kiss on her forehead everyday morning before you leave for office.

That you need a warm hug once you are back from office in the evenings.

Tell her that you are eagerly waiting to begin a colourful life with her.

A life full of kisses and hugs and smiles.
